A new brand identity design
Summer, 2025
A friend launched a new business in Charleston, rebuilding and recycling old surfboards with a fresh brand and new paint. We’re hoping it will make a splash on our local beaches because the plan is to expand into merch and other branded goodies.
Lucky 17 is equal parts garage, workshop, and studio, and I was commissioned to create the brand identity as well as the board designs. It’s the most fun I’ve had in ages.
In addition to making these boards stand out as part of the brand, the color schemes were designed for visibility. In an emergency, they can be spotted from the air or sea to aid rescue efforts. The goal was to create boards that carry the brand proudly while still being easy to see from a distance.
